Pizza Hut Japan needed a connected system for franchises, managers, and customers. We built a responsive website, POS & KDS systems, and mobile apps to streamline operations and boost engagement.

Project Overview
Pizza Hut Japan wanted to modernize their digital operations across all franchises in the country. Over a period of seven months, we worked closely with them to redesign their e-commerce website, develop responsive systems for POS and KDS units, and create apps for both franchise owners and store managers.
Our goal was to improve in-store operations, streamline management, and enhance customer engagement. Using Figma for design, React for web development, Swift and Kotlin for mobile apps, we built a complete ecosystem that included a POS (Point of Sale) system, a KDS (Kitchen Display System), and in-store advertisement modules. The mobile-responsive website and apps allowed franchise managers and owners to monitor sales, track operations, and manage promotions efficiently, giving Pizza Hut Japan a modern, connected digital platform.

The Challenge
Pizza Hut Japan faced several challenges. First, their in-store operations were fragmented, with limited integration between point-of-sale systems, kitchen management, and promotional displays. This made it difficult to ensure smooth operations and consistent customer experiences across franchises.
Second, the website was outdated, not mobile-friendly, and unable to reflect the dynamic menu or promotional offers effectively. Customers and franchisees alike needed a system that worked seamlessly on multiple devices.
Third, there was no centralized management system for franchise owners or managers. Each outlet had to handle reporting, inventory, and operations separately, which was time-consuming and prone to errors.
Finally, creating an app ecosystem for both owners and managers posed a design and technical challenge. The apps had to be intuitive, fast, and provide access to real-time data without overwhelming users.
The Solution
To address these challenges, we developed a complete digital ecosystem for Pizza Hut Japan. We built a modern POS system integrated with a Kitchen Display System (KDS) to ensure smooth order flow and reduce errors during peak hours. In-store advertisements were implemented digitally, allowing staff to update promotions and combos instantly across all stores.
The website was revamped with a mobile-responsive design, making menus, promotions, and franchise information accessible on any device. We used Figma for design, React for front-end development, and ensured the UI was intuitive and visually appealing.
For operational management, we created two mobile apps, one for franchise owner and another for store managers. These apps allowed owners to track sales, monitor performance, and manage promotions across Japan, while managers could handle day-to-day operations efficiently. Swift and Kotlin were used to ensure smooth, responsive mobile experiences.
The entire ecosystem was built to connect digital operations, improve user experience, and streamline management across all franchises.
The Result
After the project, Pizza Hut Japan had a fully integrated digital platform connecting stores, managers, and owners. The POS and KDS systems reduced order errors and improved kitchen efficiency, while digital in-store advertisements made it easier to update promotions instantly.
The revamped website and mobile-responsive system improved customer access to menus and promotions, enhancing online engagement and satisfaction. The owner and manager apps gave real-time operational insights, allowing faster decision-making and better franchise management.
Overall, the project modernized Pizza Hut Japan’s digital operations, improved operational efficiency, enhanced the customer experience, and provided franchise owners and managers with tools to run their outlets more effectively, all within a compact seven-month timeline.
